Dean Adams

Friday, August 7,
2009.
Dean lost his valiant fight against cancer and died Friday night,
August 7, 2009.
Dean and Linda have two sons who were able to be there with them
this past week.
A family memorial will be held in Oregon as this was a favorite
place for Dean.
Dean enjoyed golf
and enjoyed participating in our
PebbleCreek
Men's 9 Hole Golf Association.
We will miss him.

REPUBLIC OBITUARY:
September 27, 2006
Merle Oatman, 81, of Goodyear, AZ, passed away September 24, 2006.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9am-11am September 27, 2006 at
Thompson's Valley West, 926 S. Litchfield Rd in Goodyear. Funeral
at 4pm Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Litchfield Park. Burial
will be in California on Saturday. Arrangements by Thompson's Valley
West Funeral Home.
FROM THE WEST VALLEY VIEW:Merle
G. Oatman
April 18,1925-September 24, 2006
Merle George Oatman born in Alta, Iowa on April 18, 1925 to Cora
and George Oatman, entered into eternal life on September 24, 2006
in Goodyear, Arizona. He attended schools in Alta and Sulpher Springs,
Iowa. During the outbreak of WWII, he served his country heroically
in the United States Navy as a radar technician on the USS Marcus
Island in the Pacific Theatre Operations. Upon leaving the Navy
he married the love of his life, Helen Schappert, and relocated
to California. Merle and Helen were blessed with two daughters,
Jeanne and Cheryl. Merle worked as a Director of Quality Control
and pioneered the field of solar energy. With his knowledge and
experience, he aided NASA with launch of the first man on the moon
and assisted with the invention of the Hubble telescope, which greatly
expanded mankind's vision of the universe.
After more than 41 years of service at Applied Solar Energy, Merle
retired on May 3, 1991. In the year 2000 Merle and Helen moved to
Arizona where they continued to golf and travel. He is survived
by his loving and devoted wife of sixty years, Helen; daughters,
Jeanne and Cheryl; brother, Jack Oatman; sister, Donna Christy;
five grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren and many nieces
and nephews.
