Best Ball Tournament
Results
May 10, 2007
On, May 10, 2007, forty-three PCM9GA members played
in a "BEST BALL" golf tournament. It was a beautiful day
and everyone seemed to enjoy the tough competition and relaxed environment
of playing together with their fellow PCM9GA homeowners. After the
competition, participants were treated to beer, soda and bar snacks.
Tournament Chairman, Randy James, thanked all 43 members who played
in the event for their participation and then announced the winners.
There was a four way tie for first place which was settled by the
club professional Ron Decker doing a handicap hole by hole comparison.
The second and third place winners were finally decided after the
handicap holes had been compared.
All members applauded the fourth place group Trevor Ballinger, Vincent
Vidger, Bruce Davidson, and Chris Raptoplous for their gallant effort.

RULES:
Best ball will be played using 3 or 4 person teams.
Team format will consist of handicapped
A, B, C, & D players (four person team). The player with the
lowest handicap will be the team captain, responsible for keeping
the score, enforcing proper golf rules/etiquette and turning in
score card.
Handicaps will be taken from AGA. If
a player does not have an established handicap, then the tournament
chairperson will attempt to establish one based on posted scores.
If there are no scores posted, expect to be given a very low handicap.
Each player on the team plays their
own golf ball throughout the round, and on each hole only the low
net score or "best ball" of the group serves as the team
score.
Each player's score will be recorded
as gross and then at the bottom of the card will be a line for the
lowest net score for that hole to be recorded.
On each hole all balls must be putted
out in order to establish the lowest net score. If a player's score
is considered beyond help then that player may pick-up and be ruled
out of the hole.
GOLF ETIQUETTE:
1. Please smooth all marks made in sand traps
2. Leave the putting green as soon as you have holed out.
3. Do not walk in the putting line of your partners.
4. Do not play until the players in front of you are out of range.
5. Balls may be cleaned only after they are on the green.
6. Ball marks can be repaired prior to putting.
